Spring is here!

I've been trying this new thing of working out in the morning. Good thing I took a picture cause it only happened once.

An ad I'm creating at work for International Language Programs.

Etsy orders.  It's so fun to ship all over the world!

This is what happens when Christmas spills over into Easter.

Happy Birthday to me!

I have the best friends at work. They decorated my desk for my birthday like crazy as you can see.  Part of it was a Twilight banner that says "One Eternal Party" (that is definitely staying up).  I also got a pin that says Dream Girl which I wore proudly....for awhile. I normally don't see outside people that come into the office but no one was out front when one girl came in so I went out to help her. While we were talking she awkwardly glanced down at my Dream Girl pin (oh yeah I forgot I was wearing it!) and I awkwardly flung my hair to try to cover it.  I'm sure she just thought "wow, where can I get a cool pin like that?"  Right?

Happy Easter,

drink some water. lots of it.

I might have an addiction to health/diet books.  I admit it. I started reading The Lean by Kathy Freston and I'm loving this one.  It's all little tips to ease your way into better habits.  Most of the things she talks about I already know, but its a good, daily reminder.  I'll share some of the good stuff I'm learning with you guys if you're interested.  I'm just gonna assume you're already interested since you started reading an article about water - not the most interesting thing in the world. But get excited about it :)

I'm a water lover already and her first tip was drink water. So I'm thinking sweet - I'm golden on this one. One of her tips is to schedule out your 8- 8oz recommended glasses so that you get those for sure and then of course drink more if you're wanting it.  I put reminders in my phone so I'm alerted every time that I need to drink.  That's making it pretty easy to get in the habit!

1- 6:30 am - drink when you wake up
2- 8:30 - drink 10 minutes before breakfast
3- 10 am - drink between breakfast and lunch
4 - 12 pm - drink 10 minutes before lunch
5- 2:30 - drink between lunch and dinner
6- 6:30 - drink 10 minutes before dinner
7- 8:30
8- 10:30 - drink right before bed

Bonus: Drink a glass of water before a meal and you'll feel fuller faster. Water keeps all of your body processes at optimum level, including metabolism so it'll help keep those lbs off.  Drink lots of water ladies!

Moab

Monday, March 12, 2012

Jordan, Chelsey (brother and sister-in-law) and I went to explore Moab, UT this past weekend.  Such a gorgeous place!  The photos are mainly from a hike to Delicate Arch and around Fiery Furnace, both highly recommended. Jordan wanted to be a nature man and go barefoot most of the trip.  Me and Chelsey laughed behind his back a lot in the beginning but pretty quickly we were doing the same thing.  The rock is so smooth and there's sand everywhere so it just felt right. This was the perfect time of year there, not too hot and not too cold.  Loved it.

At work.

Recipe for Pumpkin Muffins here, except I didn't add any sugar and I added about 1/2 cup of ground flax seed.  It was still yummy and much better for you!  If you like the sweetness I think you should add maybe 1/2 cup of sugar though.

Going to Walmart in my $3 Walmart sweats.  Yep, I'm one of THOSE people.

Soccer practice.

Hiding. I found him.

My desk at work.  I think my favorite part is my Justin Bieber valentine taped to my computer that says "You were born to be somebody" with a little wink and smile.

Home.

Something yummy for breakfast.

Just do it

Check out this motivating article

I've been lacking in motivation lately and kinda hoping I'd get in the mood to be better.  My cycle tends to be totally motivated with lots of plans and goals....to burning out, wanting to lay in bed all day.....and back again to wanting to improve.  I read the article linked above and I really liked it.  It really applies to any form of working out that you choose, not just yoga.  I'm a big believer in balance in all things and so I try to go easy on myself when I'm not in the mood to workout.  But when it comes to working out....I've never regretted doing it.  Its just that initial getting off my butt and putting my tennis shoes on thats the hardest part.  Its time to tap into my will power and be like Nike.

Happy March!

Thursday, March 1, 2012

I can't believe its already March!  I'm feeling pretty good though because I've already completed a lot of goals on my 2012 to do list.  I'm rockin this year.  Are you still working on your resolutions or did you already forget what they were?  Take more pictures....check.  Learn how to work my sewing machine....check.  Explore my new home of Utah.....check.  Run a half marathon.......almost check!  I didn't tell anyone about that goal in case I decided to chicken out.  I don't know what got into me but I looked up races and I'm doing one on June 23rd. For reaaalz.  So this is my public announcement to the world so that I can't chicken out.

It snowed!  That's enough though. I'm ready for Spring.  Perry helped me shovel the driveway by scooping up snow and dropping it back in the same spot.  Oh and he made homes for squirrels in the snow. Don't ask.

Perry took this picture of me and proceeded to have a laughing attack saying that I looked hilarious.  That made me feel awweeessomee.

We had some time to kill while Evan was at soccer practice.  So, I made the game of Perry running by and seeing how blurry he could get in the picture.  He was AMAZED.  So he ran for the whole practice while I sat on a bench.  I'm a genius.
