Minted

Friday, February 17, 2012

Part of my new sewing station - I put my thread on push pins into a cork board. Works great and looks pretty cool too.

My new bag, also available in my shop

I purchased Washi tape from here and I'm having so much fun with it! It works just like tape and whatever you put it on looks freakin cute people.

Revlon anticipated my new color obsession with their new color "Minted".  I then proceeded to dump the whole bottle all over my phone.  Don't try to clean up your phone with nail polish remover - it just doesn't work okay?  But I love it enough to go buy another bottle.

There is a definite trend with my favorite color of the season. Minty.  I. Can't. Get. Enough.  Pastels and little bits of neon in general are in my current love list but minty green beats them all.  You'll be seeing more of it from me.  That's a promise I intend to keep.

I've got a four day weekend ahead of me thank you Mr. Presidents.  I've been working hard on a makeover with my Etsy shop, not only photos but coming out with a new product line. And I gotta say I'm kinda crazy about it. So my goal is to get a big chunk of the items on my to do list for that done by Tuesday.  The makeup bag seen above is one of the products I've been working on.  And I've decided that I need to make that one mine.

I'm going to see The Vow tonight and I can't wait!  I think I should sneak in a hike this weekend too.  And of course yoga is on my daily agenda.  I hope you doing something wonderful for yourself :)

Happy Friday

Friday, December 16, 2011

I stumbled across this letter organizer today and I think he's pretty awesome.  I mean he is vintage and a scottie.  So fun.  I kinda like it.

In other news, these holiday cards from my shop were on the front page of the Etsy website today.  I like it when that happens.  Makes me happy.

Also it's the weekend.

And 9 days til Christmas.

Yeah! Happy Friday :)

Music Monday and Loves

Monday, December 12, 2011

There's a lot of renditions of holiday songs out there (Justin Bieber anyone?) but personally I love the classic versions.  I love John Schmidt's assortment here.

Also I can't get enough of these ugly sweater tshirts by Vardagen.  Love em!  My budget has been arguing with me several times over whether I should purchase one or not.  If I can talk myself into adding my own name to my list of Christmas recipients then this is where I'll go first.  I've had several close calls...but just haven't taken the plunge yet.

Another store I've been eyeing lately is Blowfish and it just so happens that there is a giveaway going on at Laura's blog.  I'm a dedicated flats kind of a girl so given the fact that they have MANY boots that I would kill to have...they're worth a looksie.  Pretty cool if you wanna check it out!

Happy holiday time everyone :)

Feed Your Soul

Leah Duncan

Kelly Puissegur

So I came across this really amazing site called Feed Your Soul where artist's are donating some of their really cool work....for free! To me. To you. To anyone that wants it.  So those of us on a budget can still brighten our homes with some talented creativeness.  One of my favorite artists, Leah Duncan, donated a piece and I can't wait to print it out and find a place on my wall for it. So cool. That's all.

Home sick this weekend with a cold.  No fun, but it does give me a guilt free excuse to stay in bed, throw back glass after glass of my favorite Simply OJ, inhale Halls Defense Vitamin C (has to be the citrus flavors!) cough drops like they're candy, and look around online.   Here's the results of my findings.

Purl-Wise Pullover from Anthropologie

Rock Star Jeggings from Old Navy
(I own a pair of these....okay 2 pairs....and I can't get enough! Holy super comfort Batman)

Isis bohemian necklace by Roots and Feathers
Espresso knit flats from Famous Footwear

Blog Love

Sunday, October 30, 2011

I've been so on and off with this blog.  Some weeks I think yes....I can be like one of those awesome bloggers that have my attention for hours looking through their awesome photos and creative tutorials.  And some weeks I think...blog? what blog? oh yeah....that blog I started. Well no one's reading it anyway.

But enough of that guilt.  I'm going to fake it til I make it.  So what if I have 2 views today?  Someday I'll have 3.  Then 10 woohoo.  Photos would probably help that situation. Sorry but no photos today.

However I did find this blog, The Daybook, that I fell in absolute love at first site with.  Partly because her photos are endlessly interesting and inspiring. But mostly because she's hilarious and I can't stop reading her posts. Thank heavens for archived posts.  I've gotten through about 10 pages by hitting the "older posts" button because I just can't get enough. I may be up all night.  But I stopped just long enough to post about her in the spirit of actually being one of those awesome bloggers instead of just wishing I could be one of them.

And I love her clothes.

calligraphy wedding invites

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

There's been a lot of weddings this summer, like every summer.  I know I'm not getting married yet, but a girl can still dream. These invitations with addresses in calligraphy are so awesome and I'll definitely use them....someday!

lotta jansdotter

Monday, August 15, 2011

So if I could be anyone when I grow up it would be               Lotta Jansdotter.  She is a textile and print designer living in Brooklyn.  She is just so creative and inspiring and has beautiful designs. Whenever I feel in a rut and need some kind of jump start creatively, I look through her designs and always get inspired to start something new.  She has great projects that either a beginner or someone who feels more advanced could try!

Check out a video here
and her website is here.
